in response to your post, i have just completed a 100mi ultramarathon which took 52 hours. plus with all of the recovery that comes with that, it is a lot. i suggest you go out and run an ultra, for say the badwater… then see how much recovery there is. plus how long it takes you then have someone like you criticizing… my advice to you, do it. seriously?!

Congrats on your recent 100 miler! Impressive!
I have done 3 Ironman races, and I’m starting to warm up to the idea that a 100miler might be the right kind of torture for me!
I am seriously planning on doing a 50Miler spring 2009. There are a couple great runs up here near Seattle (or so I’ve been told by a couple ultra marathoners I know.)

Keep up the good work on the Brooks Run Happy community. Please tell me your are going to log more workouts so Kestner doesn’t beat you for the most miles run. After a 100 miles race that would be a shame lol. Keep in touch!

I am considering training for a marathon and possible one of your long races. What kind of workouts do you do, what pace, and for how long? Thanks!
